Overview

ShowMS features a variety of web tools that serve two primary purpose - improving the user acquisition funnel and improving our capability to create and manage custom pages without additional development resources:

  • Short URLs - create custom URLs, making it easier user to navigate to specific areas of the Freeform site (see 'Improving The User Funnel' below).
  • Open Graph Data - manage how Freeform content appears when shared on social media (see 'Improving The User Funnel' below).
  • FAQ - provide support for users with a list of common issues they may face and information on how to resolve them.
  • Books - create and manage a list of books - this is surfaced on web. Include a blurb, links to 'Buy Now', author bio and reviews.
  • Mobile Interstitials - created to help convert Mobile Web users to install the Freeform app.
  • Custom Pages - allows us to easily create and manage static pages directly from the ShowMS admin.

Improving The User Funnel

In order to improve user acquisition via social media, we implemented two tools that improved the look and feel of social posts: Open Graph Data management and Short URL creation. With Open Graph Data management, the intention was to make it as easy as possible for ShowMS users to add and manage high quality OG images, titles and descriptions for Freeform.com links when shared on social media.

Our Short URL creation tool was made so that we could create easy-to-read and easy-to-type URLs for a variety of popular sections of the Freeform site that could be shared on social media. For example, a user trying to find freeform.go.com/25-days-of-christmas can get there instead by typing in freeform.go.com/25days.

In addition to improving user acquisition via social media, we implemented Mobile Interstitials on the Mobile Web in order to convert users who visit freeform.com to installing the Freeform mobile app.
