Publishing Process

Articles progress through the stages listed below. New versions of the article are saved at each review stage, and a side bar displays the full history of the article's progress - including any comments and edit requests. Old versions of the article can be viewed at any time.

Work In Progress

Once the first draft of an article is complete, the author is presented with a checklist to ensure it's ready to be reviewed by an editor. If the article is missing any of the basic requirements, such as a thumbnail image, it can't be sent to the review stage.

Awaiting Review

The article is automatically assigned to an internal editor. Once they've reviewed, they can either return it to Work in Progress, set it as On Hold or Send to Freeform. Before the article can be sent to Freeform, the editor fills in another checklist to ensure the article is ready.

On Hold

Articles that arent't ready to be progressed through the publishing process can be saved here and returned to in future.

Awaiting Review From Freeform

Articles in this stage are automatically assigned to the Freeform editor in charge of the show or section. They can either request edits and return to Work in Progress or send to Out for Approval.

Out for Approval

Once approved by the Freeform editor, the article is sent to "Out for Approval". It is then reviewed by Legal.

Scheduled

These articles have been approved and automatically move from Scheduled to Published at the correct date and time.
